Valentine’s Day

This week was a very crazy week for me…found out someone is leaving my team at work and I was sick for about 3 days. I had to leave a meeting early for work and then didn’t go in at all on Wednesday. Thursday I was finally able to go back to work but felt miserable most of the day.  Even Friday, when we chose to celebrate valentine’s day I was felling a little sick at dinner. Even being sick though, this was probably the best Valentine’s day yet, aside from the 1st one of course which will always be special.

On Friday, I came home from work early because Josh had made plans…we went to the Cheesecake Factory, probably my favorite restaurant ever. I ordered a Thai Peanut noodle dish and Josh had some Mexican chicken dish. We ordered an appetizer, discovered the offer Fresca as a drink,  and each had our own piece of cheesecake for dessert. I thought there’s no way we’d each eat our own piece but unfortunately there was no cheesecake doggy bag. We did bring home leftover dinner though. After dinner we threw around a few ideas of what to do but decided to go home. I still was only so-so and I wanted my gifts :-) In addition to the dozen roses Josh had given me earlier, my hubby also bought me some Reese’s eggs, sweet tart hearts and a necklace from Tiffany’s! I was even in love with the box it came in! Kind of ironic considering we’re going through a “consumed” bible study at church and it’s all about Materialism. Anyways, I don’t think we’re that bad off….I got him lots of “special things”. Including fruit flavored gel candy, chocolate writing candy, Mario boxers-probably TMI, a mini fondue chocolate set, dark chocolate and some trail mixes I thought he’d like. I even gave him some heart shaped candles which were only 50 cents at Target but he gave me a hard time about those.  We just spent lots of time together that evening which we hadn’t done in awhile which made the evening wonderful. We also played a little Wii together but I quickly got tired of that and we went to bed around 1 AM.

Other things in life are going well too, we spent some time at the McEnaney’s last night which is always fun. We’re also going to dinner at the Wanat’s tonight so it’s great to find time to spend with our friends. We also did quite a bit of cleaning in our apt and it’s looking pretty nice. I bought some picture frames and ordered pics online so I can hang more photos in our office. I am traveling for work twice in the next 3 weeks, next week I go to Bentonville for 1.5 days and the following week we’re going to Florida!! I am combining a business trip with an opportunity to see Josh’s family because we don’t get to see them enough. It should be a nice weekend and I can definitely use the sunshine.
